I heard the story how a grain of wheat remained as it was, on top of a stone even after three thousand years in a pyramid. If you leave a grain of seed on a table top it remains as it is without germinating. In a natural state we know that for any seed to germinate and then grow into a full tree, and give fruits it should be planted in good soil. Then fertilizers with regular watering would yield a good result. But sunshine, dew, rain and winter are not in our hands and all that we can do is pray, and be rest assured that our God who is faithful will do His part.
Our life is a seed in Gods hands and what does he intend, when he puts us into the soil or sends us into this world. Isaiah 5:7 says
…. They are the vineyard of the LORD Almighty.
We are the vineyard of the Lord, planted by the Lord expected to give good fruits as mentioned in Isaiah 5:2
….Then he waited for a harvest of sweet grapes,…..
Then the Lord waited for a good harvest. God is patient and He waits for us to bring forth good fruits in our lives. But what has our lives brought forth. As we go ahead in this New year let us reflect for a few moments. What does God expect from us and what are we giving to Him. Are we like the grain of wheat which is on the table top.
The Bible says in Joh 12:24 NKJV
Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.
For the tree to grow and bear fruit the seed must first die. When the outer shell dies , life from the inside comes forth and gives more life. So in like manner it is important for us to die. Die to what ? Die to self, die to our fleshly desires, die to the things of the world so that the life of Christ in us may shine forth. This is what the Lord meant when He said in Joh 12:25 NKJV
He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.
So in this new season, give in to the Lord, and the life , the real life that God has placed on the inside through His Spirit, will come forth to the praise and glory of His name.
The time is now to die to self, and for Christ to live and manifest Himself through our lives. Give in to God and let His light shine through you.
